Director Chris Folkens Featured by FilmNewsBriefs: Filmmakers to Watch
FilmNewsBriefs announced their picks today for February’s “Filmmakers to Watch”, listing filmmaker Chris Folkens as one of the select few for this honor. Calling attention to Folkens’ work on the short film DIVERSION the Editor’s note describes the film as “A scene from what could be a larger film. It plays on story convention, but what is most impressive is the use of visual storytelling. Just watch the tension build.”
Folkens is currently developing a feature film adaptation of the critically acclaimed short film DIVERSION which will “Take the essence of what really makes the story in the short film special — certain moments, themes, characters and the like — and set it in the context of today’s political tension and cyberterrorism” says writer/director Chris Folkens.
Teaming up with co-writer Kate Gritmon and producer Steven J. Berger, Folkens and team are working towards pitching the feature adaptation in the very near future.
